Abe McIntyre Reports on Hurricane Damage in the Bahamas and nearby
Inagua: Bahamas Telephone Company radio tower
This one's going to be quick because not much is new, I have a big travel day tomorrow...and I am tired and headed to bed.
Our update on Inagua is that we found out that Morton Salt, the island's largest employer (65%), delivered much needed supplies and got out of Inagua last Saturday night just ahead of the storm. They took delivered mostly water and groceries so the island would be okay until more help arrived. They are also tentatively scheduled to sail back this coming Saturday with the needed materials to begin rebuilding the damaged structures. What an amazing blessing!
We are still waiting on our Prime Minister's "Report to the Nation" speech that will give us the more details on the situation.
Our efforts to aid Haiti are in progress and Rev. Seme Joseph, our newest BCMC pastor, is on his way to check on his family and asses in Haiti how we can most be of service to them. In the meantime, the BCMC has begun to accept donations, in Nassau at our Queens College, of food and clothing so that when the right time comes, we can ship them to Haiti.
Mrs. Elmena Bethel, our new Vice President, is originally from the Turks and Caicos and will be travelling Thursday to check in with her family and being the process of opening the doors for us to come in and serve the families that have been affected. This is very old and new territory for the BCMC and special prayers for this venture is needed.
Dave Spangler heard from Ragged Island with a great praise report of only a few shingles missing! We definitely thought they were in major trouble but are doing alright!

I am flying back Tuesday morning with Dave Spangler to Nassau, via North Eleuthera. We will attend our BCMC planning meeting in Nassau tomorrow afternoon and then hopefully will make our way to Inagua on Wednesday, as long as the airport is dry enough to land on.
As always, continue to pray for Cuba as they are pounded by Ike, the Turks and Caicos, Inagua, the Dominican Republic and especially the people of Haiti!
Peace and Love.
